The Aqua Eye Effect

Nothing says “hello Summer!” like a pop of color. From the runways to the glossy magazines, beauty is calling to those who can take the vivacious colors and take it a step further. Whether you are using eyeshadow or eyeliner the aqua colors you choose will certainly make anyone’s focus linger around your eyes.

Here are some ways to master the aqua eye effect:

  1. Use Skindinavia Primer Spray – Right before you begin to apply your makeup, spritz the Skindinavia The Makeup Primer Spray 3-4 times on your face. This lightweight, silicone-free makeup primer spray will prep your face as an oil-free canvas for long-lasting makeup.
  2. Eye Color – Before applying the foundation to your skin many artists would advise you to begin your eye color now. Mostly because if any of the pigments were to fall on your cheeks AFTER you have already applied your foundation it’s a done deal. There is no rescue. Try using Maybelline’s 24 Hour Eye Studio Color Tattoo, Tenacious Teal to create an aqua effect with one solid color. If one solid color does not ignite your creativity have some fun with NARS Trio Eye shadow, Cap Ferrat. The three colors can be used all together to achieve an intense aqua hue. Begin with the lightest shade all over your lid, next apply the medium shade and blend in the two colors. Your last step would be to apply the darkest color around your lash lines carefully combining all three. NARS Trio will glide on smoothly (it’s crease-resistant!) leaving others to stare just a little while longer.
  3. Eye Liner – The winged effect will never go out of style. It is one of the most classic makeup looks in history. Choose your favorite color such as Urban Decay’s 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, Radium and begin at the outer corner of your eyes to have a nice thin layer and paint all the way to the inner corner of your eyes. Next, you will follow your lower lashes upward on an angle for your winged result as long as your heart desires. Lastly, connect your winged eyeliner from your upper lashes to the bottom and fill in.
  4. Enter – Why not enter Skindinavia’s June Aqua Eye Contest? Upload a picture of your masterpiece (any aqua eye makeup look of your choice) to Twitter or Instagram, use #SKINDINAVIAPRO to enter.   Must follow @SKINDINAVIA on Twitter and our Instagram SKINDINAVIA The prize?  A year’s supply of Skindinavia for you AND a friend.
