All the talk after any red carpet event is always about the dress. But, the 2013 Golden Globe Awards have got everyone talking makeup – especially lipsticks. And with all the bold lip choices ranging all over the color wheel, why wouldn’t they? Rachel Weisz was spotted rocking a cherry pout, Jessica Alba went with a vibrant tangerine shade, and Jessica Chastain rocked a berry stain that was the perfect contrast to her Calvin Klein sea foam blue gown. The proof is in the pout – a wine-stained lip is capable of dominating your entire look. It’s safe to say, now is the time to get on board with bold lipstick.
35 years old, Jessica Chastain, gave all the 20 something’s a run for their money on Sunday Night at the Golden Globe Awards. Chastain wowed the crowd in a plunging Calvin Klein gown that just managed to stay in place throughout the night. Her pout was painted a wine-stained hue to add a bold pop of color and set off her fiery red hair. Chastain’s hair was pulled back and set in side-swept waves. The look was finished off with a pair of diamond drop earrings and glittering bracelet.
Chastain was the big winner of the night, taking home Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Drama for her performance in Zero Dark Thirty. She has also been nominated for an Academy Award for the film.
Jessica Chastain has incredibly fair skin, but you can pull of a berry lip shade even if you don’t have her porcelain skin tone. Dior Addict Ultra-Glass Reflect in Draped Burgundy is a universal color that is practically perfect on all skin tones.

- Apply dark shades of lipstick with a lipstick brush to get even coverage
- Pair your wine stained lip color with a blush or eye shadow in the same color family to prevent it from looking gothic.
- Line the lips with a slightly lighter shade of lip pencil to make your lips look bigger and pouty.
- Spray Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray before and after you lather up your lips in berry for protection against smudging all night long.
